Unveils the Culinary Treasures of China in New-Age Style

JAYA, Malaysia - The Toh Yuen Chinese restaurant at Hilton Petaling Jaya is located on the first floor of the West Wing. The restaurant unfolds a new culinary experience in the Chinese cuisine arena. Known as one of the reputable restaurants in the city, Toh Yuen showcases an extensive choice of Cantonese fare and has positioned itself as a preferred dining venue with great food and par excellence service, ideal for business entertainment along with leisure visits and special occasions.
Toh Yuen or Peach Garden, when translated, weaves a tranquil and serene ambience with a well-defined combination of contemporary Chinese motifs, Oriental classics and modern art, enhanced by water features to exude a peaceful and harmonious environment.
The Peach represents an emblem of marriage, a symbol of immortality and springtime, a time for joy and laughter, while the Garden signifies the grounds of an opportune encounter.
The restaurant has a built-up area measuring 3,400 square feet with a seating capacity of 110 including 8 seats at its Dim Sum bar and 4 private rooms - Jade, Silk, Great Wall 1 and 2 - that accommodates up to 10 persons each.
The interior of the outlet was brilliantly created by one of Asia’s most talented interior designers, Dan Kwan of TriBeCa Asia Ltd. It was developed to initiate a mood and charm to portray the “new century”, reflecting both the international yet traditional aspects of Chinese cuisine.
Apart from the warm and homely ambience, the outlet has special features that give every patron the dining experience. The modern interpretation of traditional Chinese courtyard, horizontal volume with circular wooden columns, bamboo ceiling, moon gates, screens with Chinese calligraphy (poems about dining, good luck and prosperity), water features, open Dim Sum kitchen and a giant marine aquarium to back the kitchen – are all part of this wonderful restaurant.
The design is influenced by contemporary Chinese motifs, accentuated by a traditional feel of Oriental classics, and complemented by tasteful designs and ambience. The introduction of wood scattered with various renditions of tabletop finishes give diners an impression of “home dining”. Water elements are also introduced in its decorative features to provide a soothing touch and feel.
Cantonese cooking styles dominate the menu. Toh Yuen has gathered a few feathers under its cap for brilliant concoctions of appetizers. These creative Chinese hors d’oeuvres are available on the menu and are well received by customers. Signature dishes include Mango Dragon, Baked Portuguese Rice, Simmered Spare Lamb Ribs Country-style, Beijing-style Roast Chicken, Fresh Scallops and Lily Bulbs in Clear Broth and Canadian Black Cod Fillet with Baked Honey Sauce.
The introduction of “dim sum” during lunch is something that food connoisseurs can look forward to at Toh Yuen. The restaurant offers a host of “dim sum” items, delicately presented in small bamboo baskets, prepared in various cooking methods – steamed, pan-fried, baked and grilled. There is also a selection of sweets and savouries. A “dim sum” bar caters to guests who prefer to feast their eyes, while enjoying these delightful delicacies at a closer range.
The restaurant also serves premium grade Chinese tea and has an extensive beverage list to complement the food menu, including a wide-range of wines.
Toh Yuen restaurant operates for lunch from noon to 2.30pm and for dinner daily from 7.00pm to 10.30pm. Dim Sum Brunch is served on Sundays from 11am until 3pm, featuring over 40 varieties of the freshest dim sum to delicious Chinese cuisine, priced at RM58++ for adult and RM29++ for child below 12 years.
