The Hague Welcomes Back Former Students As New Hotel Appoints Top Talent
Senior Team Appointed at Hilton The Hague Ahead of Opening

THE HAGUE, Netherlands - As June's opening of the new Hilton The Hague approaches, the hotel's senior team has been appointed, with many having trained at the city's prestigious Hotel School.
Karin van den Berg heads up the new team as hotel manager of the 195-room hotel, which will become Hilton's fifth hotel in Holland. The Hague is home to the seat of government and the Dutch royal family. The new Hilton The Hague is a landmark opening in the Netherlands, where Hilton has had a presence since 1962 with the Hilton Amsterdam. Hilton also operates the Hilton Rotterdam, Hilton Schipol Airport and Hilton Soestduinen.
Karin van den Berg, a graduate of Hotel School The Hague, said: "Having been raised in the local area, and after attending the Hotel School - which has a long tradition of training the very best in the hospitality industry - I'm extremely proud to be opening what is set to become a landmark hotel for a city."
"Many of the hotel team are also former students of the college and we are all looking forward to welcoming our first guests, which will hopefully include a few of our old tutors," said van den Berg.
Karin's career started working in the front office and with guest relations, she then went on to work as part of the revenue management team for Hilton Worldwide, covering the Europe and Africa regions. Karin was promoted to Senior Director of Revenue Management for Europe, before moving back into hotel operations as the hotel manager at Hilton Royal Parc Soestduinen Holland.
Other senior appointments at Hilton The Hague, who are former students of the Hotel School, include: Floris Licht as Cluster Director of Business Development; Reonald Donata as Operations Manager; and Martin Christensen as F&B Service Manager.
Hilton The Hague is situated in the heart of the city in the converted ex-headquarters of the Dutch Telecom Company, an iconic and historic building which has been extensively refurbished and revitalised into a stunning hotel. The new hotel will boast 195 contemporary designed bedrooms, eight meeting rooms, including a ballroom with a maximum capacity of 400 guests, and an Atrium designed for pre-event functions.
The Hague is also conveniently linked by motorway and train to major European cities, including Brussels and Paris, and is just 25 minutes from Schiphol International Airport.
