Senior Team In Place As Hilton Reading Readies Itself For Launch

READING, UK - As Hilton Reading prepares to open its doors on 5 May, the hotel has confirmed the final key appointment of its senior management team.
David Hanlon is taking on the prestigious role of Executive Chef and completes a hand-picked team of what the hotel describes as the best in the business - ranging from the Front Office Manager to Executive Housekeeper.
Led by general manager Meredith Bevan, the hotel is making the final preparations in training the 120-strong staff and ensuring the property opens in style.
Meredith, who joins Reading having successfully run and opened Hilton hotels across England and Ireland, said: "We are at an exciting and critical time in the new life of this hotel and to have such a strong team in place is any hotelier's dream.
"We're setting our sights on being the best hotel in Reading and want to make sure that anyone visiting us when we open next month is overwhelmed."
Many of the hotel's junior team members have been recruited from in and around Reading, with open days held at local employment centres. They now have access to Hilton's industry leading training and development, and can look forward to future opportunities around the world.
Behind the scenes Meredith has an industry leading team of HR, finance, sales, revenue and marketing. At closer quarters, some of the key people responsible for ensuring the highest levels of guest experience include:
David Hanlon, Executive ChefDavid is responsible for opening The Larder, a 136-seater restaurant serving contemporary British cuisine using fresh, locally sourced ingredients. David will also oversee all banqueting in the hotel's 500 capacity ballroom, plus the 24 hour room service and bar snacks. Born in Northern Ireland, David has almost 20 years experience as a chef, most recently working with Thistle Hotels and winning its Chef of the Year award.
Cyprian Xavier Frois, Food & Beverage ManagerAfter David, Cyprian is responsible for every element of the food and drink served in the hotel - including the contemporary 140-seat K Bar - ensuring that guests enjoy the very best in service and quality. Joining from Hilton London Paddington, he has almost 20 years experience in the hospitality industry, from locations including India and particularly Dubai where he served as bar and restaurant manager of Le Meridien - Mina Seyahi Beach Resort & Marina.
Richard Finn, Operations ManagerAlongside Meredith, Richard makes sure every operational element runs smoothly, tying together all the various departments within the hotel - whether it's making sure the Livingwell pool and gym are fully functional or that the 500 capacity ballroom is ready for a major event. Richard joins Reading having earned a place on Hilton's Elevator graduate training programme in 1999. Since then he has taken on various roles in Germany, South Africa and the UK - most recently helping to launch Hilton London Canary Wharf in 2006 as revenue manager.
Imran Ali, Front of House MangerOverseeing the front desk and guest relations team, Imran's role is to ensure guests of Hilton Reading enjoy the very finest service from the moment they enter the hotel - the stunning chandelier which hangs in the lobby is intended to help with that wow factor. Imran, who also joins from Hilton London Paddington, has 12 years experience in the industry and has worked across the Middle East and for the past eight years has been based in London.
Valerie Kevers, Executive HousekeeperValerie will ensure that the state-of-the-art bedrooms at Hilton Reading, which feature the latest in-room HD digital entertainment, are spotless each and every time a guest stays. She joins the team from the nearby Millenium Madejski Hotel, with eight years experience in hotel housekeeping and ten years as an au-pair across Europe.
The hotel will be the latest launch for Hilton in the UK, taking its regional estate to more than 80 within a global portfolio of more than 3,300 hotels across the Hilton Family of Hotels which incorporates 12 distinct brands.
