Red Rock Scenic Byway Is Arizona's Only All-American Road; Hilton Sedona Is Gateway to Adventure Seekers
October 01, 2009
SEDONA, Ariz. - Hilton Sedona Resort and Spa is the only upscale luxury resort, located off Arizona's only designated All-American Road, the Red Rock Scenic Byway. The Red Rock Scenic Byway was chosen by the U.S. Department of Transportation to be Arizona's first and only All-American Road, designating the road as a national "destination unto itself."
"The designation of the Red Rock Scenic Byway as an All-American Road positions our resort as the welcoming point to Sedona," said Edgar Lozoya, General Manager, Hilton Sedona Resort and Spa. "Visitors have always known that Sedona's topography is truly unique and with the U.S. Department of Transportation's official All-American Road designation we anticipate the area will attract even more sightseers."
Located at the end of the 7.5 miles stretch of byway, Hilton Sedona Resort and Spa sits at "the gateway to Red Rock Country," offering guests convenient access to scenic Sedona. The 219-room boutique resort, allows guests to take-in majestic views of the red rocks, while its close proximity allows guests to explore miles of hiking trails through Coconino National Forest, access to two of the world's famous vortices, and experience exceptional shopping and dining along the state's All-American Road.
Near by Byway adventures include:
- Hiking, Biking and Riding - Some of the best trails in Sedona can be accessed off the byway, and include over 200 miles of hiking, biking, and riding trails.
- Bell Rock and Cathedral Rock Vortexes - Only minutes away from the resort, both vortices are considered the strongest and most beautiful positive energy spots in the world.
- Coconino National Forest - The second largest national forest in Arizona boasts diverse landscapes, including deserts, flatlands, ancient volcanic peaks and an alpine tundra.
- World Class Art - Village Gallery is a show room for 40 local artists, and regularly hosts events to allow artists to display their pieces and connect with visitors.
- Film History - Sedona's unique beauty has been used in feature films, video productions and commercials and still serves as a film destination by annually holding the Sedona Film Festival.
Additionally, Daniel Finch-McCaffery, Hilton Sedona's Director of Adventure, is available to advise, educate, and arrange for guests to see the best of the Red Rock Scenic Byway.
"Daniel really serves as a resource for our guests and excels at personalizing their experience," said Lozoya. "Whether looking for a challenging hike, the best bi-plane tour, or a gastronomical adventure, he can share the best along the road and in greater Sedona."
Hilton Sedona Resort and Spa is the Red Rock Scenic Byway's and Sedona's only resort with an on-site full service spa and championship golf course. The 25,000-square-foot Hilton Spa, which strives to create a balance between body and mind, features dessert focused signature spa services, state-of-the-art fitness facility, variety of movement classes, making it one of Sedona's premier spas. Featured in a nationally released cookbook, The Sedona Table, the executive chef at the resort's fine dinning restaurant, Grille at ShadowRock, prepares upscale Southwestern fare that uses regional and native ingredients.
