Queensland Holiday-Makers Flock To Hilton Surfers Paradise
Queensland Holiday-Makers Are Leading The Charge When It Comes To Sunny Summer Gold Coast Holidays

GOLD COAST, Australia - Queensland holiday-makers are leading the charge when it comes to sunny summer Gold Coast holidays, with the newly-opened Hilton Surfers Paradise experiencing strong booking numbers from the state’s South East.
More than a third of bookings at Hilton Surfers Paradise during January 2011 were Queensland residents with the majority from South East Queensland regions including north and south Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast.
Hilton Surfers Paradise General Manager David Kelly said the booking figures showed the much-loved local summer beach holiday was still popular with Queenslanders.
“Nearly 35 per cent of guests who booked a holiday at Hilton Surfers Paradise during January hailed from throughout Queensland, showing that the lure of sun, surf and sand is still as strong as ever for holiday-makers looking for a local break,” Mr Kelly said.
“And with the recent devastating natural disasters throughout the state, it is great to see people are still supporting the tourism industry by holidaying locally.
“Our guests are predominantly families, couples and small groups looking for a beach holiday right on the door step of all the Gold Coast has to offer, with the space of an apartment and the five-star service of a Hilton hotel.
“Since opening Stage One in December 2010 we have experienced strong bookings with the majority of guests hailing from Brisbane, New South Wales and Victoria.
“There has also been a good mix of international guests as well with bookings from the United States, Singapore and New Zealand.
“With Stage Two of Hilton Surfers Paradise opening in August this year, we look forward to welcoming even more guests from around Queensland, Australia and the world to experience the energy of Surfers with the style of Hilton.”

This first stage of the $700 million Hilton Surfers Paradise, called the Boulevard Tower, comprises 134 residential apartments, managed by Hilton Worldwide. The Orchid Tower, featuring a dedicated 169 room Hilton hotel and further 116 residential apartments, is scheduled for completion in mid-2011.
Leisure and recreational facilities offered at Boulevard Tower include an indoor lap pool and spa, sauna, gymnasium and barbecue pavilion. Guests who enjoy shopping can indulge their passion when the first stage of a boutique shopping mall within the complex opens.
Hilton Surfers Paradise is located in the heart of Surfers Paradise just one block from the iconic Surfers Paradise Beach and in close proximity to restaurants, bars and upmarket shopping areas.
