New Executive Chef For Hilton Beijing

BEIJING - Hilton Beijing today announced the appointment of Christian Bruhns as its new Executive Chef responsible for food conceptualisation and
Chef Christian will impart more than 20 years of culinary and kitchen management experience into the Hilton Beijing's five restaurants and bars - Elements restaurant, One East, Tonic Lounge, Caffé Cino and Zeta Bar - all under one roof.
Commenting on his appointment, Hilton Beijing General Manager, Michael Nagel said: "We are thrilled to welcome Chef Christian. With a wealth of experience culled from his previous tenures all around the world, Chef Christian will definitely bring fresh elements to our multi award winning hotel. His passion for innovative cuisine will continue to make our F&B outlets an outstanding culinary experience for our guests to enjoy."
A native German, Chef Christian joined the Hilton Family in 1997. Prior to his appointment to Hilton Beijing, Chef Christian worked as Executive Sous Chef at Hilton Shanghai, Executive Chef at Hilton Sanya Resort & Spa, where he and his team won the MEAP 2006 F&B Award of Excellence, and Executive Chef at Hilton Petaling Jaya, Malaysia.
Chef Christian developed his passion for food and cooking when he started working in various restaurants in Germany at the age of 16. He broadened his culinary knowledge by working on the world's famous five-star cruise liner MS EUROPA. He also has rich experience working in Europe, South Africa, Middle East, United Kingdom, America and Caribbean as well as in Asian countries including China and Malaysia.
Chef Christian is fluent in German and English and speaks basic French, Spanish and Chinese. During his leisure time, Chef Christian enjoys spending quality time with his wife and daughter, golfing, playing tennis, travelling and skydiving.
