PORTLAND, Ore. - This Spring, the former Hilton Executive Tower will be transformed after an extensive renovation and repositioned as a boldly stylish and evocative lifestyle hotel, The Duniway. Located in the heart of downtown, The Duniway is a complete departure from a traditional city hotel, inspired by one of the city's most avant-garde change agents, Abigail Duniway. Guests staying at The Duniway are encouraged to embrace the notion of fearlessly disrupting norms and are inspired to be their own modern-day trailblazer.

Groundbreaking interior designers, DesignAgency, envisioned public spaces and guest rooms that distinguish The Duniway with a true and unique personality - one that is inviting and refined, and that also speaks to the city's industrial past. The interiors will feature an inventive mix of traditional and contemporary furnishings, and nature-inspired elements. All guestrooms offer a minimum of 310-square feet, their calming atmosphere derived from tailored furnishings combined with unique touch points such as custom wallpaper, a carefully curated selection of books from Powell Books - Portland's iconic bookstore, and other bespoke touches created by local artisans and manufacturers known for their spirit of craft and innovation. All guestrooms also include luxurious beds and bedding, oversized 65-inch HD televisions, in-room coffee and tea, in-room dining options from JackRabbit and local bath amenities.
These details, combined with a textured and urban design serve to set the mood in the hotel with an ambitious and progressive spirit that seeks to redefine convention. At the entrance, a custom-designed screen of gilded and blackened steel framed fauna provides a dramatic focal backdrop. A variety of lobby seating with both intimate and communal arrangements, is equally welcoming to gatherings of friends and family before a day of exploration, individuals wishing to check email with a cup of coffee or those looking to enjoy a glass of wine or a local craft beer at the end of the day. Suggestive black and white photography is prominently featured throughout the hallways and public areas, inspiring that independent fortitude for which Portland is best known.
Prominently located in the hotel's lobby is Chris Cosentino's much-anticipated new restaurant JackRabbit. Chef Cosentino brings a menu rooted in conviviality, authenticity and fun, including an extensive raw bar featuring fresh Pacific Northwest selections, a house-cured meat program, large-format signature plates for sharing family-style, and creative vegetable focused dishes. PUNCH designed Jackrabbit's 142-seat space with the creative approach of Cosentino and Wharton's sustainable, resourceful mentality, combined with the authentic grit that characterizes Portland. Materials are sourced from the surrounding region, including burnt woods, Oregon black walnut and white oak from Goby Walnut, leathers from Tanner Goods, and locally sourced steel. And a number of acclaimed local artists contributed original commissioned works to the space.

Chef Chris Cosentino's Jackrabbit will draw inspiration from Portland's history and feature sustainable materials along with work from local artists in a contemporary setting. Highlighting the area's rich ingredient sourcing, the restaurant will offer an extensive raw bar, charcuterie program and convivial Shared Suppers including Dry Aged Bone-In Tenderloin with Roasted Mushrooms & Sauce Au Poivre and Whole Fried Hot Chicken with Chicken Scotch Eggs and Pickled Vegetables. The cocktail menu will bring local, small-batch spirits with a special focus on gin varieties. Signature drinks will recall anecdotal elements of Portland history, like the Coin Toss, based on how the city received its name, and served in a grapefruit bowl with yellow chartreuse, lime, grapefruit soda and ginger-infused gin or tequila depending on the bartender's flip of a coin.
