Hilton Nagoya Unveils Major Plans To Transform Guest Rooms And Executive Lounge

NAGOYA, Japan - Hilton Nagoya today announced its plans to renovate its guest rooms and suites and Executive Lounge. The latest announcement is part of the series of transformation plans for several Hilton properties across Japan. Recent successful renovations within Japan include the latest dining floor, Tsunohazu, at Hilton Tokyo.

"A tremendous amount of thought has gone into creating a space that is both functional and comfortable while incorporating culturally relevant design which reflects the beauty of Nagoya. In collaboration with some of the best designers both locally and from abroad, we anticipate that our new rooms and Executive Lounge will provide an excellent stay experience that will appeal to our guests today and for the years to come," said Mr. Craig Bonnor, general manager, Hilton Nagoya.

The renovation, which commences in early 2015, will see the transformation of guest rooms and suites as well as a redesigned and expanded Executive Lounge. A renovation of this scale is the largest transformation of the hotel since it first opened 25 years ago.

The guest room renovation will commence from Jan.5, 2015 and will involve the Executive Rooms, Deluxe Rooms and Suites. When completed, some of these rooms will have Japanese-style four-point bathrooms which feature both a shower and bathtub area. Designed by the prestigious firm AB Concepts, based in Hong Kong, the new interiors' color scheme drew inspiration from the history of Nagoya with references to ancient castles and samurai. The new design also captures wabi-sabi, the most conspicuous and characteristic feature of traditional Japanese beauty in the guest room- providing a space of understated beauty.

As part of the hotel's transformation plan, the Executive Lounge will be expanded to accommodate the growing number of travelers and their preference for a premium, exclusive hotel lounge experience. Designed by Hirsch Bedner Associates, the Executive Lounge features three concept areas designed to provide a home away from home experience to all guests staying in executive rooms and suites, a library lounge, a main kitchen where guests are encouraged to help themselves from an array of food and beverage, as well as a private meeting space with built-in audio visual system which will provide guests with a comfortable work environment.

Design elements are inspired by Japanese craftsmanship and traditional beauty, featuring black iron screens inspired by traditional lattice work, glazed ceramic tiles with a quarter-turn pattern, and carefully-selected persimmon and indigo blue are used as accent. Modern urbanized style with layering of Japanese beauty complements the bustle of the city below and creates a space to revitalize our guests after a busy day of meetings or sightseeing.

The first stage of the renovations will be completed in March, and will be followed by the transformation of other floors within the hotel.
