Hilton Hotels In Prague Host Annual Christmas Charity Concert

PRAGUE - On Sunday, December 19, Hilton Prague Hotel and Hilton Prague Old Town took pleasure in organising the annual Christmas Charity Concert for the hotels' guests and business partners, which has been a Christmas highlight for 14 years. Michael Specking, general manager of both Hilton hotels in Prague, was delighted to hand over a cheque to the value of CZK 120,000 to the Tereza Maxova Detem Foundation, which works to help children in need.

The Instant Filmic Orchestra by Varhan Orchestrovic Bauer and a special guest of the evening, the International Female Choir Viva Voce, brought the festive spirit to life with carols sung in different languages.

The Tereza Maxova Detem Foundation, and in particular an educational project called 'Under the Wings,' benefits from proceeds raised through two charity campaigns at Hilton Prague Hotel and Hilton Prague Old Town.

Both hotels have been participating in the "Small Change, Big Difference" campaign organised by the Hilton in the Community Foundation, which has been running since October 2010. The campaign invited Hilton guests to add an optional one euro or its equivalent in the respective local currency onto their room bill during their stay.

Additionally, the hotels have been supporting another Hilton in the Community Foundation activity, 'Duck for Change,' since June 2010. Throughout the campaign, hotel guests had the opportunity to buy collectable sets of rubber ducks, representing different characters working in a hotel, for just CZK 130 per box of three ducks.

Mr. Specking said, "The spirit of Christmas is meant to be shared and helps us think of others.  I am sincerely happy that guests as well as team members of the Hilton hotels in Prague supported a good cause and contributed to children in need."
