NIAGRA FALLS, Canada -

This month hundreds of people will punch in for their first day of work in Niagara Falls. Thanks to Hilton Hotel and Suites Niagara Falls/Fallsview's $150 million expansion, 450 people will have new full-time positions. After months of construction and anticipation, the tallest hotel tower in Canada, Niagara Falls' Hilton Hotel and Suites, is set to be unveiled in May 2009 with new amenities and an all-suite hotel tower. It is the largest job-creation and infrastructure project in Niagara Falls since Fallsview Casino Resort in 2004.

"This is very exciting for Hilton Hotel and Suites and great news for Niagara Falls. Our expansion has meant the creation of hundreds of jobs for Niagara residents. Beyond the jobs associated with construction, we have filled 330 new full-time positions with another 120 more to come," said Anthony Annunziata, Hilton Hotel and Suites Niagara Falls/Fallsview Vice President of Marketing and Development.

Hilton Hotel and Suites Niagara Falls/Fallsview began its transformation to become the tallest hotel tower in Canada in January 2007. The Hilton's $150 million expansion will be officially unveiled in July 2009, making it the largest resort in Niagara Falls. The second phase, with a projected completion date of spring 2012, includes 40,000 square feet of conference and meeting space and a 40,000 square foot themed recreation pool and spa.

The first phase of the expansion includes a new 53-storey, all-suite hotel tower that will make the Hilton Hotel and Suites the 10th tallest hotel in North America. The tower will rise 500 feet above Niagara Falls and each elegantly appointed suite will feature a sitting room with a gas fireplace, magnificent city or Falls views and wireless technology.

In addition to the already successful Watermark restaurant, the resort will also introduce two new dining options: Brasa Brazilian Steakhouse & Wine Bar and Ontario's first Romano's Macaroni Grill. Brasa's signature chef, Ricardo Zanona, has crafted a menu featuring 12 different cuts of the finest fire-roasted beef, pork, lamb and chicken, carved tableside and a world-class wine list to match. Guests can enjoy al fresco Italian dining while taking in views of the bustling Fallsview Boulevard and the dancing fountains in front of Fallsview Casino Resort.

Romano's Macaroni Grill will bring an authentic Italian dining experience to Niagara Falls and boast a lively, open exhibition kitchen. With more than 25 specialty dishes and the occasional strolling opera singer, Romano's Macaroni Grill will be a unique and delicious addition to the property.

This week media and tourism stakeholders were given a sneak peek of the expansion and enjoyed being amongst the first Romano's Macaroni Grill this week. With seating for 375 guests each, the two new restaurants, Romano's and Brasa, will open for business this spring and summer respectively.

"The Hilton expansion and our new tower will help put Niagara Falls on top of mind as a getaway destination with tourists," said Annuziata. "The resort will attract more local tourism dollars and help support other Niagara Falls businesses that depend on tourism and business travelers - which is good for Niagara Falls and good for our economy."
