High Tea At Cloud 23
Landmark Bar Launches Afternoon Tea with a View!
March 02, 2009
MANCHESTER, UK - An iconic bar in Manchester has launched a special afternoon tea service to offer a classic British treat with a sense of style.
Hip city hotel, Hilton Manchester Deansgate, is now serving ‘High Tea' at its 23rd floor bar, Cloud 23 - a venue which has established itself as one of the most popular celebrity haunts in Manchester.
"High Tea in Cloud 23" is served daily from 12-4pm, from £14.95 per person - with a glass of champagne an optional extra for £10. The afternoon tea includes a classic selection of finger sandwiches, cream-filled scones, fruit and custard tarts, cream cake and fresh cream eclairs.
Bernadette Gilligan, general manager at the hotel, said: "Afternoon tea is a wonderful British institution and what better way to enjoy it than with sensational views from the 23rd floor of our hotel.
"Everyone is welcome to come and experience our delicious High Tea, whether on a break from the shops or a catch up with family and friends."
Cloud 23 occupies the 23rd floor of Beetham Tower and enjoys magnificent views over the city and beyond. Guests can reach the sky quickly, thanks to the 15 second express lift accessed from the hotel's reception. Oozing style and sophistication Cloud 23 offers guests and visitors to the hotel the very latest in bar chic with a menu of classic cocktails as well as an impressive wine and beer list.
The afternoon tea is the creation of executive chef David Gale who, having worked in restaurants around the world including New York and London, recently returned to his home town. Since coming on board, David has refreshed the menu, offering seasonal produce from local suppliers. His most popular dish includes locally-raised honey and black pepper roasted duck with butter-braised potato, butternut squash puree, sage fritters and a honey-roast fig.
